Located about 9 miles from the Cane River Cottage and Guesthouse is the Old Natchitoches Courthouse Museum. Getting there is easy as itís in the heart of the historic district. Leave Cane River to the right and follow Pratt Lane to Old Bermuda Road (PR-640) to LA-494 and turn right. Stay on that until it becomes Keyser and turn right on Williams in Natchitoches and follow for about a half mile. Turn left at Church Street and the Old Courthouse will be on your right.
The Old Courthouse Museum is open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Natchitoches Parish Old Courthouse Museum presents the rich tapestry of Natchitoches Parish and its people. The Museum opened July, 1996 in the Old Parish Courthouse, built in 1886. Rotating exhibits depicting historical themes are presented quarterly.
